Camping Trip

The camping trip was great! We all arrived at Yellowstone Lake State park in Blanchardville last weekend for a weekend of fellowship and team building. The team building started as we scrambled to get the 20 people who could make it there and fed! But we pulled it together and had a great time. Most of the weekend centered around the fire and the grill. The team played the bean bag yard game a ton! In fact with head lamps you can even play in the dark! Saturday night we gathered around to share how God has been providing for our team, and gave him praises for what he is doing in Juarez ahead of us. We looked at several passages in scripture to know God's heart for the poor, and reflected on our own hearts for the poor. We centered our thoughts on God and prayed that he would lead us, and that we would be transformed through the process. We ended the night in worship under the stars. It was great to have everybody together to just relax and get to know each other better. Now with only a few weeks until we go, we left the trip refreshed and ready to gear down for the final countdown! Please be in prayer for us as we make final preparations for our departure in just a few weeks. Pray that God would soften our hearts, and fill us with love and compassion for the people of Juarez. We thank you for your prayers and support.

Meet the Team!

Well we had our second team meeting where we began hashing out teams within the team... such as the Cooking Team, VBS Planing Team, Camping Trip Planners, and Hosts for future meetings. As always we had a great time, and it is awesome how all our personalities come together! We all brought Mexican dishes to pass, and I was amazed at some of the dishes! Some real work went into making some authentic Mexican food. I sense food will be a theme this summer as we meet. Our next meeting is just over a week away, and we are starting to feel the summer getting shorter. We have a lot of work to do, and I pray that we would organize and really pull together to get the VBS planned and all the meals figured out.

And now for the real news! We have started posting our photos on the Blog and you can check them out by following the new link at the left, "Meet the Team." Thank you for your continued prayers.
